A car was vandalized Saturday night (April 22) on Parkmont. The car was parked on the street and a window was broken.Â

Two-three young men in their 20s, who may be living in an apartment in the 5500 block of Gaston, have been causing problems on Swiss. Last Tuesday, one of the young men came uninvited through the garage door of a house on Swiss and surprised the owner of the house. The young man wanted to know if he could go through the owner’s trash on the boulevard. The resident suspected that he came through the garage door, not to ask the question, but to see if there was anything he could easily take.

Â

Today, Sunday, April 22, the same suspect came through an open electronic gate on Swiss and stole a bike and an edger. When the owner later saw the suspect riding his wife’s bike, he stopped his car in front of the bike and demanded his wife’s bike back. The suspect refused and claimed that he had bought it. He demanded $40.00 for its return.Â

Â

The police were called.

Â

On Thursday, a Swiss Avenue resident observed one of the young men walking a dog six times in front of his house. The resident suspected he may have been casing the neighborhood.

Â

Last week in the 5100 block of Swiss, a backyard fence (with barded-wire) was scaled, Â a car was broken into and a lap-top computer was stolen.

Â

It is not known if the Swiss Avenue incidents are related to the some of the recent crimes that have happened in Junius Heights. However, it is a reasonable assumption that crime does not respect neighborhood boundaries. It has been reported  that sometimes they can be seen in a group: several young men walking with two-three younger teenage boys. If you see anything suspicious, please call 911
