Crime Alerts
Every neighborhood has its time and we certainly have had ours with the latest surge in crime. However, things are looking much better this week thanks to our vigilant police department and alert residents.  The police arrested a juvenile in connection with an armed robbery that took place in the neighborhood and were able to connect that individual to vehicle burglaries. The police were also able to stop a house burglary on Worth and were able to arrest the suspect.
Burglaries of Vehicles
There were two car burglaries this week, down from a high two weeks ago of an average of two car break-ins a day, and down from an average of one car break-in per day last week. However, two vehicle burglaries is still too much, particularly if it happened to you.
- Thursday, August 6. Window was pried open on a vehicle parked in the 6400 block of Gaston and the stereo was removed.
- Sunday, August 2. A door lock on a vehicle parked in the 5600 block of Victor was popped and items were stolen.
Robberies
- An unidentified suspect pointed a gun at a victim and stole property in the 7200 block of Gaston on Monday, August 3.
Burglaries
- A residence in the 4700 block of Worth was broken into on August 7, Friday. An alert neighbor noticed and called the police. The police responded rapidly (at 12:03 p.m.) , blocked off the street, and were able to arrest the suspect. Hurray for our police and the alert neighbor!! Even though this is just outside the boundaries of JH, success, like crime, knows no boundaries!
Criminal Mischief
- An unidentified suspect(s) used black spray paint on a garage in the 5200 block of Victor on Thursday, August 6.
Provocative Fliers
- An unidentified person dumped provocative fliers in front of a house in the 5400 block of Worth on Tuesday, August 4. Freedom of speech is something we all cherish. However, this is harassment, not freedom of speech. If you saw anything that morning, please call 911.
