Bike Stolen in Broad Daylight

A bike was stolen from the 700 block of Lowell on Sunday, January 13 around 2:45 p.m. The audacious suspect walked down the driveway while the residents were in the house and took the bike. There were cars in the driveway and all the blinds were open—clear signs that people were around. The victims ran out of the house only to see the thief and the stolen bike heading south on Gaston.

The suspect is described as an African-American male, either a late teen or young adult with short, close-cropped hair. He was wearing an earth-toned brown/tan jacket.

If you see a suspect matching this description riding a girl’s light blue Huffy bike, please call 911.

Several residents called 911 to report frequent gunshots around 10:30 the night of Dec. 25. The police determined that residents in the 5700 block of Gaston were illegally shooting off fireworks. Thanks to all who called in. Our police patrols are based, in part, on the number of incidents reported. If you see or hear anything at any time, please dial 911 so that the incident can be documented.

With New Year’s Eve approaching, remind your neighbors that it is illegal to shoot fireworks or guns in the city of Dallas. It is also very dangerous. The bullets that go up, must also come down. The descending stray bullets can cause property damage and bodily injury or death.
