John McCutcheon, a multiple Grammy nominee, will be presenting a concert to benefit White Rock Lake Park on Saturday, September 29, at Rosine Hall at the Dallas Arboretum. Your $50. donation for this concert includes reserved seating, beer and wine, dinner, desserts and an evening of entertainment. Bill Williams, Board member of Junius Heights Historic District, is Concert Chair for this event that benefits White Rock Lake. Over the last 11 years, For The Love Of The Lake has raised over $1,000,000. that went directly back to projects around the lake like the water fountain, trash receptacles, playground equipment.

Junius Heights Historic District Annual Meeting October 16
The annual meeting of the Junius Heights Historic District (JHHD) will take place on October 16 at 7:00 in the auditorium at Lipscomb Elementary School. Election of Officers will take place, neighborhood issues will be discussed, and volunteers will be solicited for the 1st annual JHHD Tour of Homes. Six houses and a church from Junius Heights will be featured on November 11. Look for our ad in next month’s Advocate!
The proceeds will be used to pay for the JHHD sign toppers.
Forum on Trinity River October 23
On October 23, 2007, a forum on Trinity River Project Referendum will be held at East Dallas Christian Church at 7:30. This event is for residents and friends of the four East Dallas Historic Districts—Peak’s Addition, Junius Heights, Munger Place, and the Swiss Avenue Historic District. Both sides of the issue will be represented at the forum—
Councilwoman Angela Hunt for “Trinity Vote Yes!†and former Councilwoman Veletta Forsythe Lill for the “Vote Not!-Save the Trinity.â€
