Yard of the Month October 2022

The October Junius Heights Historic District Yard of the Month has been awarded to the Ordoñez family at 5634 Junius. Lourdes Ordoñez and her family have lived in Junius Heights for over 45 years and while Lourdes does most of the landscaping, her family members always help. She loves getting new ideas from YouTube videos such as Laura LeBoutillier of Garden Answer. The Ordoñez family love to incorporate small touches of blown glass features within the flower beds along with blue and terra cotta flowerpots. Roses are a must in Lourdes’ garden but she also loves dahlias, geraniums and petunias.

Lourdes says, “My garden is my healing place.”

We could not agree more. Thank you, Lourdes, for creating such beauty and happiness in our community.
