Crime Alert

While you learn more about vehicular aggravated assault from lawyers and their sites, ensure that you pay attention to your neighborhood too. A rock was thrown through a front window in the 5400 block of Tremont on Thursday, May 25, around 9:30 pm. The police were called. At the present time, there appears to be no motive.

With the price of copper escalating, thieves are stealing copper tubing from AC units throughout the city. One of our Junius Heights residents forwarded this information from the Crime Watch in Kessler Park.

Dear Neighbors: We live in the 1100 block of N. Winnetka. On May 24 between 3 pm and 7 pm. our AC unit was totally dismantled and the copper core and pipe was taken. This has totally ruined our 4 ton unit. We have to replace the whole unit. A Dallas Police crime technician came out and looked for finger prints and YES they found prints. If the person has a criminal record they will already be in the system and hopefully they can make an arrest. Hiring lawyers that could be defending against criminal charges is something one should look into.  You can also hire a lawyer if you witness any cases of domestic violence. At times most of us overlook the impacts of domestic violence. But you need to understand that violence of all sorts should be taken seriously.

We wanted to alert all the area neighbors to this situation and to please be vigilant is calling 911 if you see unmarked trucks/vans or suspicious looking persons lurking “without a purpose” in our neighborhood. We also heard about a white truck stopped @ Winnetka and Temple on May 24 around 5:30 pm with a man walking around with a wrench when the Kessler neighbor, while in the car, called 911 in front of the man he got in the truck and drove away. This is the most detailed bit of information we have as far as an eye witness. The Dallas Police called us early this morning asking if we had any more details, the detective has been very helpful with our situation. It seems this stealing AC copper tubing is VERY common currently due to the high price of copper.

Graffiti Cleanup
Junius Heights and the neighborhoods of Munger Place, Swiss Avenue, and Peak-Suburban will be involved in a graffiti clean up on Saturday, March 25. We will be meeting at the park across from the Meadows Foundation (3003 Swiss Avenue) at 9:00 to help remove graffiti from the area. After we have worked, we will come back to the park and enjoy a lunch furnished by Meadows. (Lunch will be Chicken Marsala!)

Come comfortably dressed and in clothes that will not be harmed by paint products. The goal is to break into groups and in a short time try to clean up East Dallas. For more information , please contact Marsue Williams at 214-762-2108 or e-mail or Marsue@Williamsrealtor.com.
