Big congrats to Jennae & Thomas Kotecki of 5419 Worth, our November Yard of the Month winners in Junius Heights Historic District!

They purchased their 1918 Craftsman home in the summer of 2022 and have been adding charm ever since. Originally from Washington State, Jennae made the leap to Dallas eight years ago for a new job—and it’s been home ever since. Thomas, hailing from nearby Allen, met Jennae for a dog-friendly date at Mutts Cantina with her Goldendoodle, Winston—and that sweet outing marked the beginning of their story.

Some mutual friends living on Victor introduced them to Junius Heights, and it didn’t take long for the neighborhood’s welcoming spirit and character to win them over. It was the perfect spot to begin their homeownership journey.

Since settling in, they’ve poured heart and soul into their home and yard.

Some notable enhancements include:

• A lush green lawn under towering oaks
• Seasonal blooms and new trees framing their front porch
• A backyard oasis with hydrangeas, a cozy fire pit, and even a projector for movie nights
• A porch swing, some fresh paint, and a new porch railing to top it all off

Jennae loves Halloween and as you can see by their setup—they go all out, claiming 2nd Place overall in this year’s JHHD Fall Yard Decorating Contest!
